Your Colombo Day Tour Itinerary
1. Red Mosque
Approx. 15–20 minutes
Visit the striking Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, commonly known as the Red Mosque, one of Colombo’s most recognizable landmarks.
Admire its distinctive red-and-white architecture and take photographs from the surrounding historic streets.
Interior access is subject to prayer times, religious observances and visitor regulations.
2. Historic Colombo Fort
Approx. 30–40 minutes
Travel through Colombo’s historic heart and discover the city’s colonial and commercial heritage.
See landmarks and historic buildings that may include the Old Lighthouse and Clock Tower, historic Cargills building, Old Parliament, Dutch Hospital precinct and other colonial-era architecture.
3. Colombo Lotus Tower
Approx. 10–15 minutes
Stop for photographs of the iconic Colombo Lotus Tower, one of the most recognizable modern landmarks in Sri Lanka.
The standard tour includes a photo stop only.
Guests who would like to visit the observation deck may request this as an optional add-on, subject to operating hours and ticket availability.
4. Gangaramaya Temple & Seema Malaka
Approx. 35–45 minutes
Visit two of Colombo’s best-known Buddhist landmarks. Explore Gangaramaya Temple and discover its unique collection of Buddhist art, statues and cultural items.
Continue to peaceful Seema Malaka, beautifully located beside Beira Lake.
Guests should dress respectfully when entering Buddhist religious sites.
5. Town Hall & Viharamahadevi Park
Approx. 10–15 minutes
Enjoy a scenic tuk-tuk drive through Colombo’s civic district. See the impressive Colombo Town Hall and surrounding Viharamahadevi Park, with time for photographs where convenient.
6. Independence Square
Approx. 15–20 minutes
Visit the Independence Memorial Hall and surrounding Independence Square. Learn about the importance of this location in Sri Lanka’s modern history and enjoy a short walk through one of Colombo’s most attractive public spaces.

Learn about traditional gemstone mining, cutting, polishing and jewellery making and see examples of gemstones associated with Sri Lanka, including the famous Ceylon blue sapphire.
Purchasing gemstones or jewellery is completely optional.
9. Galle Face Green
Approx. 15–20 minutes
Finish the main sightseeing experience beside the Indian Ocean at Galle Face Green.
Enjoy views of Colombo’s modern skyline, the ocean and historic seafront while taking photographs and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.
A short Port City Colombo photo stop may also be included when time and traffic conditions permit.
